About last night.

Well, that gif pretty much captures all of last night's fantastic action, doesn't it?
Wisconsin looked pretty dominant up front against their patsy. Memphis was no match for Mullen and Mississippi St, and Chris Relf is starting to look a lot better than I've been giving him credit for. And nobody in Kentucky has any idea what to do with a leather hand egg. At least the Braves won (yeah O'Ventbrel!). Now we can get a little high school football out the way tonight, and move on to the big games Saturday. We're still not sure what to expect. We're hoping for something akin to the 2005 meeting (although we won't get the heat advantage like then) or the Hawai'i Sugar Bowl (although I think Boise's OL is light years better than theirs was). But what the heart wants makes the mind think it's a fool. As said above, their OL is solid and has produced NFL caliber players. It's not Hawai'is crap that made Thom Brennamen cry for poor Colt Brennan, these kids can play. And while we hope this team has come together like the solidified unit led by DJ Shockley, Tim Jennings, Kedric Golston, and others in 2005, we don't have the senior leaders who've spent years busting their hump and experiencing success at every position group like that team. Both teams have talent. And while Coach T may not be the scientific expert we'd desired, there is no question he's had those boys busting their butts all summer and will be in markedly better condition. The question is, can we match their coaching?

  1. Guess we don't have to worry about the Kentucky match up. Ok, that's 5 guaranteed wins:
    1- Coastal Carolina
    2- New Mexico St
    3- Vanderbilt
    4- Ole Miss
    5- Kentucky

Georgia Tech looked better than I thought. Might be trouble. Tenneessee will be trouble. As will South Carolina, Miss St, Auburn, Florida, and Boise.

5-7 is still a REAL possibility.

  2. Georgia Tech looked good? Really?? They played the Catamounts of Western Carolina. There are some high school teams that could stay in a game with them.

  3. But anon, they threw for over 300 yards?!

Agreed, Tech fans will crow like they're want to do. I'm not buying it.
