Half time thoughts

We got Penn Wagers, watch out for the screwjob.

Richard Samuel can't make tacklers miss, can't run through contact, and can't see a hole. And that's a TB?

Speaking of Samuel, if we start Crowell, he slips the man in the hole on that first play, and it goes for 60 instead of 16.

Screwed by a half step on the onside kick, a half step we didn't really need to make it. Bad luck.

The punt fake? Spurrier saw something, and exploited it. Any guess he saw something going for it on 4th earlier and Garcia screwed it up.

Speaking of Garcia, I haven't seen a Spurrier QB make this many mental slips since Jesse. I guess Conway Smitty is no Noah Brindise.

The run defense has been excellent. Ogletree may have hurt a bit on some of the passes over the middle, but not a bit in stopping Lattimore. At least not yet.

On that, the game's been slow enough, and we've had enough drives, we shouldn't expect a second half drain on the defense like we saw with Boise.

And I stand by my statement that the Boise defensive front is/was better than South Carolina's. They've sure looked it so far.

I've heard South Carolina can't stop the slant. Unfortunately, I haven't seen one to say for my self.

It's been a contest of ineptitude. The winner comes down to: Will Garcia screw up worse than Bobo? Since Spurrier can switch to Carter Simpson, that might be a problem. Then again, he hasn't yet, so the kid must be pretty bad.

  1. they were right, SC can't cover a slant. Took us a while to find out.
