Now, I can't see too well but is that Greg McGarity or Mal Moore that I'm looking at? Greggie just let you know that beating the functionally retarded at Candyland does not a master competitor make. I also like the way he carefully phrased his statement but basically said that he ain't passing out cookies for people doing the things they are supposed to do. ReplyDeleteYes Sanchez, the writing continues as UGA's winning continues as well. BUT, the writing is always extremely negative such as some reference to Russ Mitchell who writes that nothing UGA does, in terms of winning a game, is worth a flip. Mr. Mitchell's article is then hailed as some brilliant piece of journalism. He is lauded as one of those super intelligent people who "tell the truth without sugar coating." I guess most of us are too stupid to understand and swallow his logic.

Well, by years either the fire Mark Richt crowd will be happy or be ready to take their ball and go home. Me? I am cheering for UGA and every member of the team and staff to "finish the drill." If UGA is not able to finish in a manner that is satisfactory to GM, then he can certainly make a change at the top. If that happens, I will cheer for the new staff with all the might that I have cheered for the staff currently in place. I will not have to be wooed back to cheer for the DAWGS because I will never leave their side.
While I agree that our wins over mediocre opponents should not qualify us as a "Top 25 Team" (and yes that includes our defense), let the damn schedule play itself out. We have Florida, Auburn and GT remaining. Our main focus should be on one game at a time.
ReplyDeleteHowever, with regards to this SOS "issue", are the people who whined about playing Boise State, the same people that would chalk up an opening game win against Louisville as unimpressive? We'd still be in the same exact position as we are now, wondering "whom have we beaten."
I don't care if people viewed the Boise game as a lose-lose situation, this argument itself is pigeonholing.
My, how simpler life would be, if we all had the best of both worlds.

I have never named Dan Mullen as my choice. I have two choices- Gary Patterson (better winning % over same time as Richt) and Mike Leach. I think both are better football coaches. I would take either over Richt in a second. Both are long-shots for the job. Leach more so than Patterson. However, not for the stupid reasons you people come up with (especially the we could never hire him away nonsense). Now if you don't get the Patterson deal based on this season in which he and Richt have the same number of losses and both to historically awful programs--then know that an ESPN poll of fans nationwide ranked Patterson #1 over Saban.
We have a poll here and of 426 voters Dan Mullen is 2nd at 23% to replace Richt. He was in first for weeks until the UGA/MissSt game and was over taken by Kirby Smart. So it ain't just us. Mullen won at Miss St last year (no easy task) and then there is his tie to McGarity. Understand a little better now? Otay. You can't throw losses up against other coaches because Richt has lost to Colorado, Vanderbilt, Kentucky more than once, BC, UCF, etc.
You are average. You like averageness. You are mediocre. You are a loser. You are weak-minded and given to attachments to non-sense that has nothing to do with football and winning.
Do you know why you hate us so much? Do you? Because there is no one else on the Blawgosphere telling it like it is. No other blog demands only the best. No other blog is accepting of pitiful, weak, mediocre, excuses as to why a program with as much or more than everyone else is so AVERAGE.
You don't have a clue, boss. You are a loser. So you are happy beating bad teams and losing to average to good teams. Nevermind the elite teams because Bama and LSU would run us off the field. If that is negative it is because the University of Georgia Football program is underperforming and has been woefully inadequate for three years now. Paper sales holding just fine, TV & web is strong, radio sucks right now-probably always will now. Some of the big conglomerates are hurting like the Athens Banner Herald. But that's all due to over-speculative parent companies borrowing more money than they could pay back. Debt will kill you son in this business. The only debt we've got is on the airplane we took delivery of last year... Where I don't mind intraweb people, I don't like people like yourself. Who purport to having a factual, logical stance on a subject; yet avoid any and all appearances of objectivity. You can't logically discuss the pros and cons on the subject because you have an agenda, and it's an extreme agenda and you spew as though you speak for all bulldogs when in fact you speak for very few if any outside your Garden City Law Firm... We all definitely want better, and there's little question we slipped over the last couple years. And yes, Mark's tenure is a polarizing subject at the moment. However, most of us agree that not only can he turn it around but that he will-and may already have.
