One More Evil Thought On Richt's "Extra" Rules.

Sports and Grits is a blog dedicated to telling how it is no matter how much you dislike the truth.  We are hated and despised by many within the Georgia fan base because of one simple truth....We live in reality and a large number of Dawg fans do not live with us in that reality.  This struggle is not new to the world.  In fact the struggle between what is and what Hippies call "Utopia" has been going on for centuries.

Now if you are a regular on this blog because you know us to be beacons of the truth then you know the man in the picture above.  On the other hand if you are a Disney/PeePee Dawg then do not look directly at the above picture for the greatness of the man may drive you insane.

His name is Niccolo Machiavelli and in 1513 he wrote an Italian, Politically-based, pre-cursor to Sports and Grits.  The book he wrote is called The Prince and it is a must read for all Cold Blooded Sausage Makers.  In fact it was so baller that the Catholic Church banned the book all together......sound familiar?  Well needless to say the Catholic Church took a major hit with the advent of Protestantism and the original Martin Luther's 95 thesis.  Hmmmm....I wonder, could those that ban and oppress S&G face a similar fate in the near future?  Could they be ruined by a competitor?  Hard to say right now but if history repeats itself our work will be considered legendary in the field of SEC Football studies in about 200 years.

Mark Richt is always talking about doing things the right way and the way things are supposed to be.  Richt is trying to give guidance to 17-22 year old kids who most likely come from abject poverty, a fatherless home, and a socio-economic background that looks down upon education and considers violating the law as an inevitability in life.  Trust me I see it everyday.  Here is an example.
Educated and productive members of society, if arrested, will say "I have been charged with ________".  Uneducated, unproductive, social leaches, when (not if) arrested, will say "I done caught a charge".
Do you see the difference?  They have caught the charge much like one catches a cold.  Any attempt to do anything other than sheppard these kids in and out of the University, get the most out of them, and pass them off to the NFL is a waste of time.

"The distance is so great between how we live and how we ought to to live that he who abandons what is done for what ought to be done learns his ruin rather than his preservation; because a man who wants to make a profession of goodness in everything is bound to come to ruin among so many who are not good."~~Niccolo Machiavelli, The Prince (1513).

Wow, its like Ol' Niccolo had a crystal ball and was describing Mark Richt and the SEC circa 2012.

  1. It's not that you're a beacon of truth - you're not - it's just that most of us aren't interested in the Petrino doctrine being applied to our program. If CMR is 'too good', you guys are too stupid. Better to be good than stupid, I say.

    1. Well the watchdog troll returns.

Now what exactly does Slutty Bobby P have to do with this post? No need to explain I fully understand your tactic....link us to the guy everyone is down on so that the truth of this post is weighed down by Petrino. This would be more of a Miles/Saban doctrine. We don't want additional rules on all players-we aren't asking that Richt ignore the D, focus on the O, and lie to the administration about his own actions. That would be the Petrino doctrine. We are just asking that we don't impose additional rules that other SEC programs don't apply.
Good in this regard does not mean able it means being a boyscout. I am beginning to wonder if you don't have a learning disability that affects your reading comprehension skills.

  2. I agree that it sucks that Georgia is living by rules that other programs do not and that is detriment to their success. however, laying 100% blame at the feet of Mark Richt is not an entirely accurate assessment. The rules Mark Richt follows concerning suspensions are set by the university administration and Mark Richt, as the head coach, simply enforces them. I think he tries his best to be smart with suspensions and bends the rules as much as possible. If he wasn't then every time a first offender breaks a rule, they would be sitting out 5 quarters of action (10% of a 12 game season equates to 1.2 games).

On the flip side, Richt is not totally innocent. He is (arguably) the most powerful man on the University of Georgia campus. If he made enough noise, he could probably get the policy changed.

    1. You make a good point Streit. To say that a certain football hating academic does not hold a big portion of the blame would be an understatement. However, you are also right in the point that Richt could, if he wanted, take care of the "policy" problems.

  3. we should just hire us a superhero lawyer & sue the hell out of Adams & everyone associated with him for failing to foster an environment of excellence that encourages championship caliber football. Sue CMB while we're at it for calling stupid plays & sue his daddy for getting him into football in the 1st place. If Bobo's daddy had been a golf coach, we'd have some gay pirate as our OC & be racking up multiple MNCs..

    1. You could have just said:
"You win Rider I have no answer to this."
It wouldn't have taken as much of your time.

  4. If Coach Richt really wants to go all out, just kick off the team anyone who does anything wrong. We're down to like 75 scholarships, less than Univ of Southern Cailf, only our penalties are self imposed from Coach Richt.

Why didn't Coach Richt kick Murray off for underage beer possession?

The guy is a self righteous hypocrite.

  5. Preachaman Richt would makes Jesus sick with all his man made rules designed to elevate him in the sight of others morally.

Jesus condemned the pharisees in no uncertain words. Talk about self righteous, Mark Richt has made a bunch of man made extra rules.

I'd suggest Mark Richt doesn't read Matt 23:1-12. Jesus dodn't have any kind words for his kind.

Unless you do far better than the Pharisees in the matters of right living, you won't know the first thing about entering the kingdom.

  9. Nice. Bunch of Anon bible scholars. Maybe if CMR could win the SEC East, it'd shut some of you assmonkeys up. Oh wait...he just did that last season..

    1. You play for the SEC East at Carolina. You play for the SEC and National Titles at Florida. Who do you want to be grouped with, Carolina or Florida? Missy St. or LSU? Ole Miss or Alabama?
Plain and simple you have a loser's mindset and because of that you not only accept mediocrity but you run it up a flag-pole and display it proudly. Maybe in CMR could put us on the same playing field with other SEC elite programs that do not have the same resources as us. Oh, wait...he'll never do that because he hamstrings himself!

    2. Welcome to mediocrity, Gator fans. It will take Coach Boom AWHILE to change the Urban Liar cesspool back to the Swamp. BOOM!

    3. In terms of talent they will have the guys they need for the new system no later than next year (they may have them now). The big question is going to be if Coach Menstrualcramps is the right man for the job. You would think that with the talent and resources Florida has anyone could win there but the Zooker proved that wrong.
No what is going on is Tennessee and Florida will continue to flounder, we will compete with Sakerlina for the right to get killed in Atlanta, and when Florida and Tennessee return to winning we will keep Richt because he won so many SEC East titles.
It is we who are in mediocrity Jax.

    4. Zooker still won 8 or 9 games per, and beat Richt 2 out of 3 times.

  10. CMR needs to understand that he was not hired and is not paid millions to mold young men's character. We have ministers, teachers, counselors, etc. for such. CMR was hired to win football games. Like any competitive endeavor, one must play within the established boundaries (rules) but, like one's competitors, one must always be pushing the boundaries in search of an advantage. CMR just doesn't get this. He may win the SEC East on occasion and maybe even the SEC once in a blue moon what with all the abundant talent he is routinely blessed with at UGA. Heck, he may even luck out and Win a NC, but he will never be a consistant "winner" until he stops giving his competition a shorter field by lengthening his own.

CMR is a "Wonderful Christian Man" but UGA could hire a truckload of "Wonderful Christian Men" for CRM's salary.

CMR just doesn't get it. Come on Coach, GATA!!!!!!!!

  11. Coach Mark "Foul Mouth" Richt, cursed out a fan last spring, and lashed at the fan with his self righteous arrogant boasts "I know what the hell I'm doing".

Foul Mouth Richt can make his own rules, suspend more players than any team in the nation, be 1 of 5 schools out of 120 to suspend players a game on a 1st offense, but he can't live by his own rules, he can't meet his own moral high horse standards, like cursing.

  12. Richt's philosophy is called fundamentalism. It's all based on setting up your own man made rules, that are better than others. It's designed to win your praise in the eyes of men.

I'm sure we'll hear about Richt's charity work this summer again, like Richt's guys always tout.
